We were so inspired by our trip to the ICA, we decided to take in some more contemporary art at the DeCordova Museum & Sculpture Park. This place is genious for kids - Jaya was so excited by all the sculptures, he exhausted himself by running from one to the next. Beautiful park, exposure to art, total exhaustion, parents win. Our favorite was Jim Dines "Two Big Black Hearts". They were, two big metal black hearts covered in castings of coffee pots, womens shoes, wire cutters, and rope, among other things. Any Jim Dine experts out there, I'd love to know what the heck the whole thing means.
We also got in some great local leaf peeping along the way, along Rte. 126 out to Lincoln. This weekend foliage is at it's peak in Massachusetts and we were treated to blazing yellows, oranges and reds along the way. As soon as Annika can handle a longer trip, I'm determined to do the Mohawk Trail. Until then, we're lucky to be a short ride away from such gorgeous color.
