Today Annika had her long-awaited Early Intervention assesment. Although she was given a few points for "effort", she limped in at 10 mths for gross motor skills. But, she did score a brilliant 18 mths for cognitive abilities. So apparently, Annika has thought long and hard about the pros and cons of walking, and decided that the ROI just isn't there.
The occupational therapist attributed her delay in gross motor skills to poor muscle tone. Can a girl not get a break? Muscle tone is a big enough problem at 37 post 2 kids, you'd think a 16 mth old would be spared. Annika, I'm sorry to tell you it doesn't get any easier.
Toning therapy begins in two weeks. She should be all set by swimsuit season.
