One of the best things about living in New England is mid-October to Mid-November: Fall festival season! Where else can you enjoy all things baked and appley, fresh crisp air, brilliant blue skies, gorgeous foliage, and all the face painting and outdoor games you could hope for? Today we kicked off our festival line-up at Drumlin Farm, in Lincoln. We had a hayride, ran an egg and spoon race, listened to old-timey music and went totally mental hay-diving. We wrapped it up with grilled sausages and cider. Does anything taste better than a sausage grilled outside on a fall day?
And you will not find any fabulous pictures of happy children on a beautiful fall day posted here because I broke my second digital camera at the very same place. That's some bad juju.
When we got home, the long-awaited Blue Wind Power Ranger Halloween costume had arrived. Thank you, Ebay friend from Normal, Illinois. Jaya tried it on, and I offered to lift him up to the mirror so he could see it better. "Mommies", he replied, "do not pick up Power Rangers".

Aw, now you've made me miss New England! Indeed, fall everywhere else is unlike New England fall. sigh. We were at least in the 80s today and not the 90s.
