Jaya, gourmand.

As all of you followers of this blog know, Jaya has given new meaning to the word "picky" in "picky eater". We've long given up on even the suggestion of trying new foods, until last week, when we had one slice of chicken pizza, and one slice of veggie pizza leftover. Jaya is strictly a cheese guy. Cheese with no funny crust bubbles, stringy slidy pieces of cheese coming off during slicing, or imperfect triangles. But I was feeling reckless. I put the pizza in front of him and said nonchalantly, "Oh, we've got this pizza left from your party. I got it for the grown-ups. Now that your 5, you can eat it. If you want." And walked away. Oh, the power of 5! He bit, literally. And the next few minutes, between hasty swallows, we heard "Wow! I can't believe how yummy this is!" Wow! chicken/pepper/mushroom/broccoli is my new favorite! Hey!".
At dinner last night Jaya requested salad, roast chicken, fried tempeh, asparagus, and stir-fried shrimp from the table. I looked around and realized, that maybe for the first time ever, Jaya was eating the same dinner as me and Agusti. I think I like 5.
