The concept of mortality is still being worked out by Jaya. it's a big one, and now that extinction has been introduced, it's become more complicated. "We were driving up to Portland to visit some friends when Jaya announced," Poppy is dead, but he's not extinct." And he's right. As long as we're here, Poppy is still alive, in a way.
He then added "I have a Grammy, and she's NEVER going to die. And I'm never going to die either."
There are moments when your children say things that make your heart contract and crack right down the middle. That was one of them.
