Rainy Saturdays usually mean for us a day at the Boston Childrens Museum, but this weekend we decided to kick up the culture notch a level and check out the new ICA, which hosts a Family Day every last Saturday of the month. It's right around the corner from the Childrens, on the waterfront, but a world away from the bubble-making machines and giant climbing structures.
Who needs kids-stuff when you have an apartment-sized elevator made out of glass, floor to ceiling windows that tilt out over the water, and interactive art? The art bit was a little tricky, because even when 4 year old fingers have been reminded many times NOT to touch anything, it is just oh so very hard not to just touch one little bitty corner with a pinky. But then we let it all loose with hip-hop lessons by Rainbow Tribe, which was the runaway hit of the day, and I am all over their Wednsday evening classes at the Brookline Dance Academy!
We will definately come back for the next Family Day.
