Men are from Mars...

Yesterday, out of sheer snowbound, post-flu, three day weekend boredom, I found myself putting the kids hair up in crazy pigtails. Jaya said "look! I'm a boy and a girl!" So begins the awareness of gender differences. In the last few months, this has become more apparent. All things pink are untouchable, strictly for girls. A few weeks ago, I heard wailing coming from the bathroom. I ran upstairs, where Jaya was taking care of his sit-down business and apparently a little of the stand-up business had happened at the same time. "Mommy!" he wailed, "I'm peeing like a girl!". It was a major gender-identity crisis. Daddy took over that one, being man-business.
