Live to eat.

I am a foodie. Not only do I love to read about food, talk about food, and best, eat food, I remember practically everything I have ever eaten. Agusti will ask me, for example, if I remember some beautiful fishing village in the island of Flores, and I will say, "is that where we had the amazing grilled tuna?". He thinks there is something wrong with me, but that's just how my brain is wired. I once read that trying to recall memories or information we rarely think of is like bushwacking for your brain - crossing every synaptic gap between neuron to neuron is like one big slog for the electrical impulses. There just must be super-paved highway between all the little food-dedicated neurons in my brain. And every once in a while I will get stuck on one food item. This week, it's red velvet cake. The universe has conspired in strange ways to place red velvet cake in my consciousness. It started out with my neighborhood bakery offering it, completely out of the blue. And then yesterday, just while I was looking up red velvet recipes, I look up, and there goes a coworker walking by my computer with a huge slice of it. So it's beyond my control, it is obviously my destiny to bake it as soon as I am able.
